Autumnfest, Southern Pines NC
WHEN: October 1st 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
WHERE: Downtown Southern Pines
We are excited to be participating in Autumnfest this year. This will be our opportunity to exhibit and sell our art. It will also be an outreach event to the community to bring in more members.
The booth is 10 x 10 so there will be limited space for hanging photographs, but I estimate that we can display 25-30 medium sized framed photographs. We will have screens to hang photos on and bins to place matted, unframed photos. We will also have tables and other display cases for other products you’d like to sell. So, get creative with your artwork! Note cards, stationery, puzzles and other products with your photographs are good items to sell.
An efficient use of the space would be for matted unframed photographs that people can browse through in the display bin. Here is a link to protective clear cases to protect the matted photographs: https://www.framedestination.com/info/video-clearbags-pc.html
We will be accepting credit cards for the sale and have some other administrative expenses, so you will get to keep all the proceeds from your sale, except a 5% fee retained by the photography club.
We need volunteers to help with set up, take down and working the booth. Working the booth will include answering questions about membership, keeping an eye on inventory, collecting payment from the sales and logging the sales for payment back to the member. This should be a fun day!
Here are the time slots for volunteers (we only need 1 or 2 for each time slot):
8:00 AM to 11:00 – this would include helping with set up.
11:00 – 2:00
2:00 – 4:30 – this would include helping with the take down of the booth.
We will have 2 drop off locations the week before the sale. Or, you can bring your artwork to the booth before 8:00 AM the day of the sale. We will have labels for you to use that will identify your artwork and set the price.
What should you do now?
Autumnfest is right around the corner! We are excited about the exposure this event will give to SPC. The more people who can participate the more successful this event will be. If you haven’t already, start getting your photographs ready to display and/or sell at the event. If you missed the email with the details on the event, Shari can resend the information sheet to you, just shoot her an email.
Please email Shari by September 15th listing the number and type of photographs you plan to sell at the event on October 1st.
Get creative with your photographs and think outside of the box on how you may want to offer your photographs (mugs, stationary, puzzles, etc.) We will have room for traditional framed photographs and lots of room for unframed, matted photographs. Details about the drop off location time and date will follow. We still need a few more volunteers to help the day of the sale. This will be a fun day, so please let Shari know if you can work a few hours. This would be processing sales, keeping an eye on inventory and being an ambassador for the club by promoting membership.
Contact Shari if you can volunteer the day of the sale.
Email Shari with any questions you may have or any other ideas to best utilize our community exposure during this event.
